How to Remove Bookmarks in Firefox

Have you ever found a website by accident that you like and want to save for future reference? Well thanks to bookmarking this can be easily accomplished. Bookmarks are great for you, for the webmaster and for everyone else involved. Let me give you an example, do you know how going back to the same store over and over again is something every business owner wants well the same holds true with website visitors. If they can get you to be able to easily come back to their site then it's a win win. A win for you because you enjoyed the site so much that you want to go back and for the webmaster because they have a repeat visitor.

Now let's say you're tired of the website or found one that's a little bit better or like me need to clear out the clutter once in awhile. There should be a way that you can easily remove or delete a bookmark and thankfully there is. There are several popular browsers that are widely used today. They include Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, and Google Chrome and so on. Each of these browsers has their own version of bookmarks and how to save and remove them varies a little. For the sake of this article we are going to cover how to remove bookmarks in Firefox. If you have "how to" questions about any other browser please contact me through my website down below .

One thing about computer software is that there are so many versions of the same thing. I say that because I am working on Firefox's current browser version which is 6.0.1 and you may have a different one. You can check by left clicking the Firefox tab in the upper left corner of the screen, place your mouse over the word "Help" do not click it just wait a second and a drop down menu will appear. Look for "About Firefox" and left click on it, a window will appear stating which version it is. Although your browser version maybe different the process of removing bookmarks should be about the same.

Let's get started:

If it's not already please open your Firefox to the homepage. Do this by double clicking the Firefox icon on your desktop, or left click on Firefox from inside the start menu. Now look to the upper right you'll notice a "house" icon and below that the word "Bookmarks" should be present. If it's not then you may have it set to not show the bookmarks toolbar. In this case you will have to change that setting to "View Bookmarks Toolbar". Do this by taking the following steps: You will notice to the right of the "house" icon (that I mentioned earlier) a small square icon with a star in it, left click on it. Inside the drop down menu that will appear it will say "View Bookmarks Toolbar", left click on this and your bookmarks should appear.

removing bookmarks.

So now below the "house" icon in the upper right hand side of the computer screen you should see the word Bookmarks and to its immediate left is the small square icon with the star inside it. Both of these are part of the same button so just place your mouse pointer over them and left click. Inside the drop down menu that appears look for and left click "Show All Bookmarks", it should be on the second line from the top.

This will open a window called "Library". On the left hand side column look for "Bookmarks Menu" and left click it, you will now see your bookmarks listed in front of you. Select which bookmark you would like to remove by right clicking on it only once. You will see "Delete" at the bottom of the drop down menu that appears, left click on it and the bookmark will disappear.
